Assist in crushing and pressing grapes, monitor fermentation processes, and perform basic lab tests to check sugar levels, acidity, and other parameters.
Barrel Maintenance:
Aid in cleaning, filling, and racking wine barrels, ensuring proper storage conditions, and tracking barrel inventory.
Blending and Bottling:
Assist with wine blending according to winemaker instructions and participate in bottling operations.
Cleaning and Sanitization:
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of winery equipment, tanks, and facilities to meet quality and safety standards.
Cellar Work:
Perform various cellar tasks, such as punch-downs, pump-overs, and temperature monitoring.
Compliance:
Adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
Inventory Management:
Participate in inventory control, stock rotation, and record-keeping of wine supplies and materials.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional education in winemaking or related fields is a plus but not required.
Previous experience or knowledge of winemaking processes and equipment is beneficial.
Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in a winery environment.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team and follow instructions from the winemaker.
Basic computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management.
